== Special Mother's Day
Weekend Wellness Cruise ==
Join us as we cruise
Pittsburgh's Three Rivers to celebrate the
beauty of the human spirit and the healing
power of recreational music making. On this
Mother’s Day weekend, most especially, this
three-hour event celebrates our mothers, all
women who have loved and nurtured us, and
Mother Earth.
This is a family-friendly
event; bring everyone! First-time drummers
are welcome. Bring your own drum, or use one
of ours. RiverBeat is contagiously fun! Come
drum, dance, sing and laugh with us!
During the previous five
RiverBeat events, 400-plus people ages 4 to
94, from all walks of life, from as far away
as Michigan, New Jersey and New York, and
from African and Irish to Middle-Eastern and
Native American cultures, have joined in a
magical afternoon of exhilarating rhythm on
Pittsburgh’s rivers. No drumming or music
skills are necessary to attend. If you
haven’t experienced RiverBeat yet, make this
your year to do so!
A few words from RiverBeat
attendees:
"There are different levels
of joy, and the ultimate level of joy for me
is the experience of RiverBeat."
"Wow! Yowza! Damn! I am
still feeling the thrill of RiverBeat. If I
had to do just one activity forever and
ever, for all of eternity, it would
RiverBeat. No lie. It is my definition of
heaven."
"I felt so alive! I wish RiverBeat
had never ended. We had a blast and really
felt a connection to the rivers. The only
sad part is waiting until next year’s
cruise."
"RiverBeat blew me away
so deeply that it will take a few days to
articulate my emotions. Aside from my own
deep experience, the second most fun thing
for me was watching how much fun everyone
else was having!"
"What an awesome idea! RiverBeat
is definitely out of the ordinary. Simple,
mysterious, active fun. Thrill and adventure
are practically guaranteed for
participants."
RiverBeat is made possible
by the Pittsburgh Foundation, The
Pennsylvania Council on the Arts,
Multi-Cultural Arts Initiative, Heinz
Endowments, Guitar Center, Highmark Blue
Cross Blue Shield, Point of Light Magazine
and generous anonymous donors.

A
Sampling of Epiphany Works Past Events
There is a
River Flowing Now, Very Fast:
The 13 Indigenous Grandmothers
The Mayan 2012 Prophecies
and Pittsburgh's Connection to Both
In December 2007, miracles converged to
bring to Pittsburgh two prophetic voices
addressing the needs of this historic moment
that we are living in as we approach 2012 --
a sacred call to turn away from destruction
and towards world unity. It was an honor and
a blessing to have these two elders travel
to our city:
Mayan
elder Flordemayo, one of the grandmothers of
the International Council of 13 Indigenous
Grandmothers, spoke about their work to
bring peace to the world and "light the way
through an uncertain future." Born on the
Nicaragua/Honduras border, she is a
healer/curandera living in New Mexico, and
founder of the Institute of Natural and
Traditional Knowledge.
Quiche Mayan High Priest Don Alejandro Oxlaj
is the primary keeper of the teachings,
visions and prophecies of the Mayan people,
day keeper of the Mayan calendar, and head
of the National Mayan Council of Elders of
Guatemala. He will spoke on Pittsburgh's
role in the Mayan prophecies of 2012.
RiverBeat:
Pittsburgh’s Annual
Interactive Hand-Drumming Cruise
"Three
Rivers, One Rhythm"
Every year, a rich tapestry of rhythm,
self-expression and sheer joy unfolds on the
rivers of Pittsburgh when hundreds of people
converge for RiverBeat, the city's only
interactive hand-drumming cruise. This novel
take on community drum circles attracts a
larger audience, wider media coverage and
more buzz each year. Why? It's a low-cost,
family-oriented, "hands-on" and contagiously
fun afternoon on the water that celebrates
the beauty of the human spirit and healing
power of recreational music making -- all
while appreciating one of Pittsburgh's
greatest assets: our three rivers.
In
previous years, 400-plus people ages 4 to
94, from all walks of life, from as far away
as Michigan, New Jersey and New York, and
from African and Irish to Middle-Eastern and
Native American cultures, joined in a
magical afternoon of exhilarating rhythm on
Pittsburgh's rivers. In 2006, we also
extended a hand to children in several city
schools and offered free tickets to students
so at-risk kids could experience the power
of drumming and how it builds confidence and
self-esteem. Furthermore, several Pittsburgh
families who have children recovering from
cancer attended RiverBeat. There are no
words to describe the beauty of seeing these
kids' faces while making music with hundreds
of others on board that day!
No drumming or music skills are necessary to
attend; we even provide drums for our
"cruisers" to use. If you haven't
experienced RiverBeat yet, make this your
year to do so!
COLLABORATE WITH US!
If you love RiverBeat and would like to see
it continue, let us know! We are NOW
actively seeking corporate sponsors and
private donations to not only help cover
event costs and keep the ticket price
reasonable, but also to continue to bring it
to a wider audience through ticket
underwriting and on-board programming. We'd
love to collaborate with anyone who shares
our mission of inspiring others through
recreational music making! If interested,

The True Power of Water: A Talk
by Dr. Emoto
Pittsburgh
was introduced in 2005 to the revolutionary
work of internationally renowned Japanese scientist
Dr. Masaru Emoto, whose research shows how
water molecules are affected by thoughts, words
and feelings. More than 400 people from across
PA, Ohio, Michigan and New York came to hear
Dr. Emoto's findings as they relate to personal
health and renewal of the planet.
The
serendipitous timing of this talk made Dr.
Emoto's message especially relevant, as the
world had just experienced several international
disasters related to water: the Asian tsunami
and hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He offered
possible solutions for circumventing tragic
natural disasters such as these by demonstrating,
through scientific research, how our thoughts
and feelings affect physical reality.

on Emoto's Pittsburgh visit:

“The Emoto talk is a day I will always remember with warmth and smiling. The energy and beauty with which we all came together is a bright and very shining thing. Thanks to Epiphany Works for having the foresight and talent to bring the doctor here. We are all indebted to you.”
City of Alchemy: From
Steel to Gold
Surrounded
by the Frick Fine Arts Building's gorgeous Florentine Renaissance
art, a cross-section of Pittsburghers joined in an intimate
conversation about the soul intelligence required to heal
the earth and reconnect us with our core power centers. Led
by renowned energy healer Edemir Rossi of Curitiba, Brazil,
the evening focused on the energies that Pittsburgh was founded
upon and continues to be: a region with powerful alchemical
properties. Musicians Life in Balance infused the evening's
deep messages with high vibration sound healing
Pittsburgh's Festival of
Consciousness
The purpose of the Fest -- held at LaRoche College in fall 2002 and Robin Hill Mansion in Spring 2002 and Fall 2001
-- was to create a means for the personal exploration of mind-body-spirit wellness and conscious living. Our practitioners and professionals represented a dynamic mix of the area's abundant healthy living resources. This event drew hundreds of people from western PA and beyond, and was featured on WQED-TV, a PBS affiliate.
"This is a festival in the truest sense: a celebration of soul and light! Finally, Pittsburgh has a comfortable escape into the soul."
"At the Festival of Consciousness, the energy is electric, the connections are valuable and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming."
"The Fest provides a more intimate and appropriate setting than most expos, which facilitates wonderful conversations and allows participants to relate to one another."
